# Notifications

The bell icon in the header collects everything that needs your attention. Notifications are generated by the marketplace's own state changes, so they're accurate by construction:

| Event                               | Who's notified              |
| ----------------------------------- | --------------------------- |
| You've been outbid                  | The previous highest bidder |
| A bid landed on your listing        | The seller                  |
| Auction ended — settlement starting | Buyer and seller            |
| Buyer needs to confirm receipt      | The buyer                   |
| Settlement completed                | Buyer and seller            |

Notifications currently live in-app only — there is no email or push channel yet (see [Roadmap](/company/roadmap.md)). The bell refreshes automatically while you're on the site.
