# Fees

Bextree charges **one fee: a flat 1.5% of the final sale price**, applied only when a sale actually completes.

| Event | Fee |
| ------------------------------------ | -------------------------------- |
| Placing a bid | **Free** |
| Creating a listing | **Free** |
| Auction ends below reserve / no bids | **Free** |
| Successful settlement | **1.5% of the final sale price** |

The same rate applies to LP positions and Streamflow/vesting positions alike, and it's snapshotted onto each auction when the listing is created — a listing's fee can never change after it's published.

## Bonds are not fees

The Streamflow settlement bond (5% of reserve) is a **security deposit, not revenue**. It is refunded in full on successful delivery. It converts to anything other than a refund only in the failure case, where it's forfeited and split 70% platform / 30% buyer — see [Settlement Lifecycle](/getting-started/settlement-lifecycle.md).

## Alignment

Bextree only earns when a trade completes. There is no fee on bids, no listing fee, and no charge for an auction that doesn't sell — the marketplace gets paid when it delivers a completed trade, and not otherwise.
