# Welcome

Bextree is a Solana marketplace for buying and selling ownership of **locked and vesting assets** — before they unlock. Sellers convert locked positions into cash today; buyers acquire those positions at a discount to their unlocked value.

These docs explain how the marketplace works, how settlement and custody are designed, and how to integrate with or build on Bextree.

## The one-paragraph version

Tokens locked in a vesting schedule, and LP positions earning fees, both have real value — but that value is stuck. Bextree runs auctions for the **ownership rights** to those positions. The underlying asset never moves out of its protocol: a vesting contract keeps vesting, an LP position keeps earning fees. What changes hands is who it belongs to. Payment sits in on-chain escrow, delivery is verified on-chain, and if a seller fails to deliver, the buyer is refunded in full — automatically.

{% hint style="info" %}
Bextree is currently in **public beta**. See [Beta Status](/company/beta-status.md) for what that means in practice.
